An innovative wide-field spectroscopic telescope with simultaneous operation of a large field-of-view, high multiplex multi-object spectrograph facility with both medium and high resolution modes, and a giant panoramic integral field spectrograph.

A 10 m-class wide-field spectroscopic survey telescope with top-level requirements that will make it stand out compared to any existing or planned facility, allowing an extremely broad range of scientific applications. 

The WST brings together well-established technologies and carefully targeted innovations, always keeping in mind the sustainability of the project.

The Operations and Data Work Package defines the science-driven operational model and data flow that enable WST to run multiple surveys in parallel and deliver high-quality, science-ready data throughout the project’s lifetime.
